In an A1 German course, basic German language skills are taught to beginners. Here are the steps typically taken in an A1 German course:

1. Greeting and Introduction

First, the participants learn how to greet and introduce themselves in German. This includes learning simple greeting formulas like "Good day" or "How are you?".

 

2. Alphabet and Pronunciation

Participants learn the German alphabet and the correct pronunciation of the letters. This is important to be able to express oneself clearly later on.

 

3. Numbers and Time

The course participants learn to count numbers in German as well as to read and say the time.

 

4. Basic Grammar

Simple grammatical structures such as forming declarative sentences, questions, and negations are introduced. Also, the basic forms of verbs and simple prepositions can be part of the lessons.

 

5. Vocabulary and Everyday Vocabulary

In an A1 German course, a basic vocabulary is also taught that enables participants to navigate everyday life. This includes words for animals, colors, numbers, family, professions, food, drinks, etc.

 

6. Simple Conversations

Participants practice having simple conversations in German, for example, introducing themselves, talking about their profession, asking for directions, ordering in a restaurant, etc.

 

7. Listening and Reading Comprehension

Through listening and reading comprehension exercises, participants are trained to better understand spoken and written German.

 

8. Writing and Speaking

Course participants also practice writing short texts and speaking in simple sentences to improve their communication skills.

 

Overall, an A1 German course aims to provide participants with a solid foundation in the German language so that they can communicate easily in everyday life.
